Working Principle

The working process of the press filter is roughly divided into 4 stages:
The first stage: the pre-processing stage. The solids content of the original slurry is generally very low, and the slurry concentration must be increased by gravity or other means to reduce the processing cost. The commonly used pretreatment method is: mixing the concentrated sludge with the high-molecular flocculant, the material is agglomerated by the flocculant, and the fine particles are aggregated and precipitated initially, which is a preparation condition for the sludge dewatering on the sludge.
The second stage: the gravity dehydration stage. The flocculated pretreated sludge is added to the filter belt, and under the action of gravity, the free water outside the floc is filtered through the filter belt to reduce the water content of the sludge.
The third stage: the wedge preload dehydration stage. After the gravity dewatering, the sludge begins to enter the wedge-shaped pressing section, and the gap of the filter belt is gradually reduced, and the extrusion and shearing action is applied to the sludge to dehydrate the sludge again. After this stage, the sludge fluidity is almost completely lost, thus ensuring that under normal conditions, the sludge will not be squeezed out in the press dewatering section.
The fourth stage: the press dehydration stage. The sludge is repeatedly squeezed and sheared by a carefully designed press roll system to remove a large amount of capillary water, so that the sludge moisture is gradually reduced to form a sludge filter cake. At the separation of the filter belt, the filter cake is discharged. The scraper is scraped off. After the unloading, the filter cloth is washed and enters the next cycle.
